We came to the rock wall. I felt extremely scared just looking at its height but I remembered not to be scared because it was a master piece made by the lord.
I felt wobbly in the legs when it was my turn. I felt like I wanted to run back out of the cave onto the bus, back to the marae. But as soon as I leapt off the cave floor my fear was flooded by my courage like a town flooded by a dam. As I went up the rock wall I stared at the dry, dark, hard rock and when I was at the top I looked down and wished I hadn’t because it was very high.
We came to the end of the cave and we had to go over giant boulders. It looked like a hill of rocks, wait it was a hill of rocks. When I got to the top I saw heaps of trees not a few like the front of the cave, but hundreds and hundreds of them. The cave there was about four times longer and two times higher, what’s more is there were billions of spider holes and a few tree roots.
We had come back into the cave where we went into a small part of the cave and had to scale a wall. When we were all down we turned all the lights off and it was very, very dark. I managed to stand up in the darkness. It was cold, cold on my nose that is.
Man, being in that cave was fun and scary at the same time and I finish by saying that caving is awesome.
