Flying Fox

by Adiraj

I was totally ready to face the world two minutes ago.
But now as I sat on a rock a shiver went down my back.
It felt good watching my classmates jump of a cliff though.
After-all the Flying Fox was just a person hanging on wire and crossing a valley right.

All to soon it was my turn.
As I walked stiffly to the flying fox instructor every one cheered.
Then in a fraction of a second I was hooked up on the cable and ready for a blast. There was a challenge going around. It was the person to hold onto the wheel at the other end of the cable for the longest time wins. I took up the challenge then I looked to the other side of the cable and wondered what the wheels were for. I then heard some people shouting and these were the last things I heard.
Before I jumped.

Soon I found out that it takes speed to get as far as wheel, that hung overhead as I took a wild swing for it and missed. We were all grateful to the instructor that we were allowed two turns each. In my second turn I sprinted knowing that in-order to win the challenge I needed speed. As I jumped a tree went by in a blur. I had enough speed to get to the wheel and my long arm's helped. Then it all happened so quickly that I only had time to hold on to the first thing I could get my hands on and would you believe it that it was the wheel I was meant to hold on too. I was counting myself lucky on the way back up the hill.
