My tummy feels like it’s going to leap out of my mouth just looking at how high the ropes are.
I grabbed a harness just in time and put it on, then out of the blue Johnny starts lifting us all up.
Unfortunately for me, my fear is climbing up my throat, and we haven’t even started climbing up the ladder yet . Finally it is my turn to go up the ladder. Well, here goes nothing. One step, two steps, so far so good. I determinedly climb up the ladder.
Finally I have reached the amazingly high plat form. Tim’s words are blurred out of my head by a little voice screaming.
“YOU CAN’T DO IT, YOU’RE GOING TO FALL”.
I take my first shaky step on to the ropes, Sandra in front , Rachael behind. I should be okay. I hear a voice, I look down, WHOOPS, big mistake! I feel like the trees are whispering to me “ You can do it, you’ll be fine.
When you’ve been doing this a little while, it’s not that bad, it’s really fun. Now it’s time to go down the flying fox. This is no ordinary flying fox, you see, instead of sitting on something, you just hang there, in the air. Johnny clips me on and I’m on my way. I feel like a bird soaring through the sky.
Just as I reach the bottom I see a giant tree. I think I’m going to die. I land on the barrel and Mrs Hicks unclips me, I run to my dad, Can I do that again, I asked. That was AWSOME!
Don’t you just love it when you’re scared of something and then do it
HIGH ROPES ARE AWSOME!
