The Rafting Times

By Katie King

We were on our way to the next activity and of course because it’s a bus there is usually a lot of people and a lot of people make a lot of noise. I heard and saw people talking but all I could think about was what i was going to do first.

We all came to a stop. At this point my heart was racing with enjoyment. Were we really there? I heard the noise of an indicator then off we went into a forestry like place. A few seconds away from kayaking and rafting.

We got off the bus. We organized each other into our groups. Then chose what we were doing first. I did kayaking first but that wasn’t a problem because we were able to play a kayaking water polo game that was extremely fun and next we did rafting

We put our life jackets on but there was only a few of us because it was a freezing cold day and the others were chilled to the bone. So there were around six of us that went. We hoped into the raft and some people pushed the raft out into the lake.

We started paddling but the only problem was that we were so out of time. We went around in circles most of the time. The really fun bit was when it was my turn to get out of the raft and stand on a pole in the middle of the lake. The only reason we were allowed to do that was because we were the only group out there. It was cool because I was the only girl who did it.

When we came back from rafting we had to get dressed because we were soaked but the only bad thing about that was we had to get dressed in the bush. When I was getting dressed my body was so numb it was actually quite weird.
We stepped on to the bus and drove off to enjoy the rest of our adventure.
